BECKETT magazine Vs Online PG

BECKETT magazine Vs Online PG
HOW COME THESE 2 PRICE GUIDE PRICES ARE NOT COPASTETIC?? CARDS FROM THESE 2 PG's ARE HARDLY EVER LISTED THE SAME. BEING THAT THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY YOU WOULD THINK IF A CARD IN THE OPG BOOKS FOR $20 IT WOULD ALSO BE $20 IN BECKETT MAGAZINE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY THIS IS?

YOu would think they would be the same....I dont get online PG so i cant compare. So much rather get an issue in the mail for the articles and stuff. and you cant take a online PG in the bathroom for a potty break lol. I guess if you have a laptop....

Thats weird though...unless the online PG is more updated??

The OPG is more updated than the magazine is all... Takes longer to get something in print than it does to update a site...
I collect Peyton Manning and Griffey Jr.

^^ This is the most likely reason.

Also be sure you're comparing apples to apples. The magazine can only print a Hi/Lo column with ONE specific condition criteria. On the online price guide, you can manipulate the condition...so for something that might be priced at "Near Mint" in the magazine (for example) - be sure you're looking at "Near Mint" and not "Mint" or some other condition pricing online.

It's also more beneficial for Lcs's to have the hard copy Beckett to check stuff to give them a baseline for marking their products or finding info on trade/sales for that one-to-one customer basis. The OPG might change too frequently daily, whereas the magazine can provide that tangilbe evidence of value.

I would be careful to trust some of the online pricing. I have already tried to point out to no avail some obvious wrong pricing. I'll give an example here.

I'd imagine, as is the case with print, that mistakes are made on a semi-regular basis.

If you see obvious mistakes like that, report them to the appropriate sport editor using the email address in the FAQ (ie for Football use footballmag@beckett.com).

Like the above poster said, data entry for several million entries is bound to result in a typo or two.

I read all the responses. I'm clear about the conditions of the cards and the prices comparible. Bottom line is the prices dont match. The price may be different in the opg but will remain the same for a number of consecutive issues in the magazine. And its not usually a small difference, its usually a substantial difference. I have to agree, the magazine is incredible for when you're on the crapper. Works wonders.....
