This isn't exactly "baseball," but I've been looking into these and I was wondering if any of you pre-war vintage guys have much info about them. They look to be pretty old, but I've noticed that they really don't sell for much, even on eBay slabbed.

Here is one thing that confused me though....for example, this one says 1888 yada yada yada:

But this one doesn't say anything about the year and looks in decent condition for the grade it has:

I'm not familiar with PSA, but the Illinois Flag card doesn't list the year and doesn't say anything about being authentic like what was on the other card. Does PSA just not say that on all of them? Is it to be assumed that if they slabbed it, that it is authentic? Just kinda looking for some tips/suggestions. I'm not trying the build the set, but there is one that I might be interested in trying to pick up.

If PSA slabs it then it is authentic. Some people simply want the card authenticated and not graded, hence the reason they only say authentic. It's tough to tell what year any of those old A&G come from because they released them over a span of years. But I agree with you, those are from late 1800's so why aren't they worth more?

Oh okay, cool. I kinda wanted to buy the Illinois Flag, but neither the year or stating that it was authentic was on the sticker...so I was just wasn't sure as I usually don't buy slabbed cards and old vintage stuff.

Those are pretty neat and I've considered picking up some flag cards of the states in which I've lived and additionally, a few of the country flags for the whopping four other countries I've been to. There is an antique mall place nearby here that has a few I think, one of which is a silk so that's kind of interesting. Granted, I don't think any of the ones I've seen are the A&G N11 cards.

Closest I have is something from I think 1959 and it's the Iraq flag.
