To: Onionring and any other 1988-1990 Topps stickers experts:

I just broke 5 boxes of 1990 stickers (240 little packs...) and noticed some unusual stuff:

-Several AL players including Canseco and McGwire seem to be found with light and dark blue names.

-The players with red names can be found in straight magenta-red and in magenta/yellow-red. These two different types come in the same pack sometimes.

-Craig Biggio is the only blue background (NL) player who has a blue name. Can anyone confirm a corrected RED name version?

-Some players are far less available than others. Here is a small sampling of quantities (in super-star cardbacks) I pulled:

----Ken Griffey Jr x17 (1/321 x10, 28/269 x3, 15/298 x2, 146 x2)

I noticed that each of the above players that had no more than 3 foil-sticker backs in their count, often just 1 or 2 copies of the foil backed versions per player compared to the 6+ of the dual-player sticker backs.

Is there anything else I should be looking for? Are there even more combinations for some of these guys than I have listed? Am I right to think that some of these players/stickers were produced in smaller supply?
