RE: THE GOOD TRADER LIST..updated June 20 / 2011
Let me get this straight in my head, your well pump/well-house is nowhere near the actual well???!!! AND it is beside a creek/river? In NC, you never attempt to dig/drill a well anywhere near a creek, stream or river. That is the bottom and the water isn't welled up in that area or is not good water. For all the houses I've lived in that had a well here in NC, all were dug at least 100ft. away from the lowest point of the land. A well that close to running water can collect toxins/deposits from run-off into the waterway. A well-digger here will tell you that you are wasting at least $600 if you dig near the bottom of the land. They usually don't hit a well there. At my current house, the well is about 250 ft. away from the lowest point (which is a run-off spillway for several lakes/ponds in the area). I am sure it is done differently throughout the country, but I am still dumbfounded that your pipes run SO close to the waters edge.
