Www.cardboardconnection.com is a great website that usually lists each card product released and gives information, photo guide and a checklist of all the cards, SP, variants, inserts, etc.
I use them all the time.

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.
