I'm going to express some suspicion that the big NIL deals being touted in the media are real.
Cam Ward, formerly Washington State quarterback reputedly had multiple million dollar plus NIL deals - he has declared for the NFL Draft even though he is projected as best a Fourth Rounder (and some believe with a big year he could move up) - if those million dollar plus deals were real, they'd be paying almost as much as being a late round draft pick and any lower amount of money would be offset by the chance to move up in the draft(remember that there are multiple quarterbacks who have started games this year making under $1,000,000 a year)
