1996 UDA Jordan SPX autograph FAKE!

They state in their auction that a UDA certificate would only cost $20. I can't imagine a seller knowing this and not spending the $20, as it would easily return more than an additional $20 in bidding. That being said, I didn't realize that UDA stopped doing online verification for items over 10 years old now. That definitely adds to the possible scamming that people could do.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards. Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.

Check this ebay item:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flight-School-Sh...415ef1841f It's a signed t-shirt from MJ' basketball camp including a hologram sticker. The SPx card might be signed at the basketball camp. (11-03-2011, 06:17 AM)chimanba Wrote: Check this ebay item:500k? lol

The sig was signed with a signature marker on that shirt NOT a thick $1.29 sharpie. My SPX Jordan was signed at the camp as well. I have the hologram on the back, matching cert. AND I sent it to PSA for authentication and slabbing. It came back Authentic PSA 9. Below in picture, far right top row. Notice the pen on that too. Apparently high bidder backed out....cause dude relisted: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-SPx-Michael...2315d67f1e BTW: Advice on eBay: If you "DO NOT SELL FAKES", its probably not a good idea to list your auctions as "private". That just sends a red flag up for me. A good faker in Singapore used to do that all the time. ALSO: There are NO GUARANTEES with the PSA Quick Opinion. It just just that, a quick opinion. For more concrete evidence I would not touch this unless it came with the cert and/or PSA slabbed.

RE: 1996 UDA Jordan SPX autograph FAKE!
Hey guys i just starting collecting basketball stuff after a 10 year absence. I recently bought a large lot of cards (all sports) for 75 bucks and i found a Jordan Legacy card that was autographed. Now, im suspicious because i bought the lot for 75 bucks. Nobody would sell it for 75 bucks knowing that it had a real MJ auto. But i happen to have a CERTIFIED 98 Classics autograph card from Erik Meeks (Doubt he even made it to the NBA Draft), both have the same type of ink (the ink color changes to a deep red/purple color when put under light), and both are thin autographs. As soon as i find out how to post pictures here, i'll post it.
I just want somebody to tell me if its real or not, or at least give me their opinions, because i honestly cant tell the difference between a real and a fake, and also i dont know how to get it authenticated, and i have trust issues with sending valuable items via mail to people i do not know at all. Oh, and the card came with NO sticker, NO indication of it being autographed, and NO serial number however the Legacy set box said look for rare MJ autographs. I contacted 6 different card shops and they all told me that they have the same card except they all had no autograph on it.

This auto is genuine. Period. He got it signed at the Jordan camp in Santa Barbara. I worked those camps, Jordan would pay the volunteers with one autograph on an item of their choosing. He chose to have a gold SPx card autographed. Then Ida would authenticate it.

The card was not. Period? How can YOU be so sure since you have not seen the item in person? My 20 years in the collecting card field (buying and selling) and 12 years on eBay, with a personal interest and knowledge in autograph cards (not saying Im an expert here and am certainly not a PSA authenticator) just tells me there are a ton of Red Flags here on that card. 1: Private Auction listing (usually fakers use this tactic to fly under the radar) 2: Thicker weight pen than Jordan NORMALLY signs with 3: No UDA cert. 4: He changed his story on the UDA cert (look at both auctions) 5: Compare to MY Jordan signed SPX card WITH cert. from his camp: So needless to say this is VERY QUESTIONABLE at BEST!
