what is crimped on the card? i'm just confused how a 75th anniversary patch ended up on a 2004 product - especially absolute which at the time was one of the first products released in 2004.

It was a giveaway at the 2006 National Convention in Anaheim. That is what the stamp says. As far as the 75th Anniversary patch goes, I guess I don't get your confusion. The NFL's 75th anniversary was in 1995. I also have a 2003 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Elway with a piece of 75th anniversary patch (See my collection below). I hope that clears things up.

i will say this - elway was mediocre until TD came around!! Smile

i just checked your photobucket. i didn't realize 2003 ultimate put out those nice of patches /99. it almost matches up to your other card.

I've heard that before. Even Montana had Rice. But Elway was pretty good I guess. Anyway, that 2003 Ultimate set had a bunch of nice patches. I've seen a bunch of good ones on eBay. I always think it's a shame though when you cut such a nice patch into as small of pieces as possible. Oh well.
