1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
I am trying to put together these sets in mint 9 or better grade. I would even take them in 8 or 8.5 grade as well. I have a little over 20 total cards so far and all but 2 of them are graded PSA 10 Gem Mint. If there is any wrestling card collectors that have any of these cards in any of these grades and are willing to let them go please let me know. Would even like some ungraded ones as long as they are mint condition to where I could get them graded myself.
Thanks! |

1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
I just sent in a '82 Wrestling All Stars series A Jerry Lawler and a '82 series B Jesse "The Body" Ventura to Beckett for grading and they both received the BGS 9.5 Gem Mint grade! They are on the way back and I cannot wait for fedex to deliver that package to my door! I haven't been able to figure out how to post pics on here so when I receive them I will try again so I can try to post some pics of these MONSTERS!!!
I am still on the look out for any of these '82-'83 Wrestling All Stars cards in mint to gem mint condition!!!!! |

1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share that I bought and received today in the mail an amazing '82 Wrestling All Stars Ric Flair PSA 10. Once I received today and saw that it was the most pristine and cleanest '82 Wrestling All Stars cards I have ever run across I filled out a Beckett grading form and went to post office and mailed out today to Beckett to be regraded and slabbed into the beautiful BGS holder. Hoping the card has a chance at that elusive BGS 10 grade! These cards are some of the hardest cards period to find in even NM/MT condition let alone pristine but if any of these cards had a chance for a BGS 10 PRISTINE grade this is surely the one.

Which specifically might you be looking for? It'd be more of a longer-term project, but I have a chance to track some of these down.

Hey Chris, I am always on the look out for any of these cards mint or better even if I already have certain ones. The main ones I am really needing in MINT or GEM MINT condition is definitly the Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Ted DiBiase, Kerry Von Erich, Bobby Heenan, Harley Race, Superstar Billy Graham and Lou Albano. These are the ones I would definitly like to find now but I would always take any of the '82-'83 Wrestling All Stars in MINT to GEM MINT condition. Thanks!! |

Just checked Beckett order status for my PSA 10 Flair '82 Wrestling All Stars and it did crossover to a BGS 9.5 Gem Mint. I am very happy with this! |

1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
This is an extremely tough task. I just submitted 15 cards from a sealed set and got the following grades.
Hogan 8 Flairr 8 Brody 8 Race 8 JYD 10 Bruno 10 Dibase 9 Muraco 10 Patera 10 Putski 9 Rhodes 9 Funk 8 Ladd 8 Bocwinkle 9 Backlund 9 I have nearly 600 Wrestling All Stars cards in total with a Hogan 9, Lawler 9, Iron Sheik 9.5(Beckett) Slaughter 9, Santana 9, Inoki 9, Roberts 9 and I thought these were the nicest cards from these sets I have ever seen. I have no idea how some of them came in as 8's except for maybe centerting. Good luck on your quest as this is a hard set to find in nice shape over EBAY. |

1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
I bought Jerome from EBAY's final sealed set of the 83 series A for $133 plus shipping. The set of 82 series A I submited I purchased from him sealed off EBAY for $399 plus shipping and those were the cards that yielded the GEM Mint 10's. I Have four sets of the 83 Series A or set three but most are NM. After submitting the prior set I quickly realized most if not all sets for sale on EBAY are EX-MT to NM at best. Almost all are advertised as NM-MT which after getting awesome cards graded and recieving that grade for some it is very clear that almost all sellers are exagerating or just don't realize what the grade of their cards are. Many wrestling collectors are not as condition sensitive as baseball or football but for long time sports card collectors you want sweet looking cards! If Beckett is going to atempt to value these they need to realize that their prices for most cards are off by a huge margin. There are two great examples of this. Junk Yard Dog and Bruiser Brody. Both are $2.50 cards that never sell for less than $9 plus shipping. Most of the prices for raw cards in Beckett are a joke and sell for less than 25% of high book yet the wrestling cards in many cases sell for 3 to 5 times book. And they drop coverage!!

I should add for most cards except Hogan, Flair, Ventura, and Andre which are more active and easier to cover. The bottom line though is the price guide is off on a huge percentage and it is actually to low as mentioned earlier. There are 108 cards and and at least all of the cards at any given time sell for more then the last Beckett coverage which was the Kobe Byrant issue. On one hand it is great that Beckett dropped coverage as most prices are just made up and this will help the market rise as most collectors simply don't want to knowingly pay above book. On the other hand constantly rising prices in the guide create excitement which is the life blood of any tradable asset. I just wish the people behind the prices would do a better job of acurately covering market activity. If you claim to be the authority cover it correctly.

1982-'83 Wrestling All Stars trading cards
I got the 83 Series A and they were nice but had the typical lower left corner damage to many. It is a real shame that most have this. I recently purchased some old issues of The Wrestling News which is where the mail order for these cards were. This was the only place to get them and they were $5 per set. The advertisements showcased Tommy Rich, Pat Patterson and Andre The Giant for 82 Series A, Rick Marterl for 82 series B, and Jimmy Snuka for 83 Series A. The more I learn about these cards the more I realize that they are super rare and almost non existant in Mint and Gem Mint condition. The hunt continues.
