I came across his stats the other day and was kind of caught by surprise. He is playing very well in AA. .315/9hrs/35rbi/7sb. YET, when you look at his cards they just arent selling. EX. 99.99 for a bgs 9.5 organge refractor. SO, why arent his cards selling? is it just plain lack of projectability? i know he doesnt have one stand out tool but he seems to have big league center field ability to me???

I hope so. He has hitting ability, and good fielding skills.

Age and being a CFer in the Cardinals System might have something to do with it

I also hope that he fulfills his complete potential. While I've only been able to see him play in person a couple of times and the majority of my observations of him come from video; I have always been impressed by his play.

He has a smooth swing and is more than adequate at center field to cover it at a MLB level. It wasn't so long ago that some scouts were saying that they thought that he would eventually be contending for a MLB batting title.

Jay is a stud. He is one of those sleeper prospects that woke up with a bang. He is tight!

Just curious, but do you know if he has any power potential?

If I remember correctly he came out pretty high. I never really looked in to him though.

Well, let me caveat this by saying that I'm certainly no scout but it would seem that he does have moderate power potential, should be more than enough at the top of a lineup.

He has a fast swing with solid mechanics (after load, prior he has an unorthodox "pump" and non-needed motion at times). From watching his hitting clips, he has had a tendancy to have a flat swing plane in the past which would limit his HRs but maybe he's worked on that. I can't say since I haven't seen him play this year or seen any clips yet from this year.

Thanks. I have been curious for a in-person report. You don't need to be a scout to see potential.
