The burned Clemens 1/1 ... still missing grrrrrrrrrrr.
As some of you know, I bought that Triple Threads Roger Clemens 1/1 that somebody burned in protest. And since then, the card has not been seen. The seller sent the card a day after I paid and used USPS priorty mail with DC. Records show the card was shipped from virginia on May 2, arrived in Oakland (California) a day later and should have arrived at my house within a day or two. BUT it never did.

So I contatced the good folks at the USPS after waiting two weeks and after three weeks of run around was told to call some guy at my local office. I finally spoke to him today.

He tells me that the package had the wrong address written on it and was sent to a postal center about 30 miles south of where I live. From there they lost track of it.

Here's what I don't get:

The seller tells me that he clipped my address from PayPal invoice (avoiding any miscommunication) and sent it along.

The post office tells me it had the wrong address (according to their records) was sent to the wrong city, but was never delivered. (This is plausible given the similarities in name of city and zipcode)

Whose telling the truth here? Clearly someone is making up some story.

The odd thing about this is that I told Jeffvmasters -- a fellow Clemens collector -- that I had a feeling that this thing would get lost.

Hmmmmm.

Given my past experience...it's probably the post office's fault. I think that since you were able to track it, it's plausible that the seller actually shipped it to begin with. Somewhere in the handling process the USPS screwed it up. It's happened to me before. Actually, it was a package that Jeffvmasters sent to me. The post office is still giving me the run around on that one.
