Ask the audience
No, this is not an online version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

A couple LCS have sets/boxes that I'm very interested in purchasing, but I've been waffling back and forth on what to buy so I figured I would reach out to the Beckett community for expert opinions.

Below are the available options and purchase price.  I always open sets/boxes and pull singles for my Cooperstown collection.

Please help me spend my money wisely!

I voted 83 Topps Traded simply because I like the "Update" sets.

I love update sets too.  First time you got to see a player in his new uniform, at least on a trading card!

That is probably my first choice, but also the most expensive.   Cool

I voted 83 Topps……..but I also just picked up the 84 donruss set myself. I’ve wanted it for so many years but couldn’t justify spending money on it…….till the prices went crazy and I got a good deal for 82-84 (don, fleer, and Topps sets)….Smile

I voted 1985 Donruss because I was 13 and essentially started collecting at that time.

RE: Ask the audience
I'm in the minority with the 1992 Topps Traded Gold set. I always liked that solid gold bar at the bottom. You'd be getting HoFers Gary Carter, Jack Morris, Eddie Murray, and Dave Winfield.... which honestly you could get from any of your other choices except the '94 Leaf and maybe the Traded set.

There's also a bunch of rookies in the set including Nomar Garciaparra, Jason Varitek, and Brian Jordan. As a Cubs fan it's also cool to see Rey Sanchez in there as well as a rookie of a pre-Oakland Matt Stairs.

I also see a lot of your favorite set designs seem to favor 90s stuff which this set would be right in your wheelhouse. At $50, you could get that and the '83 Topps Traded and still equal the cost of some of the more expensive options.
