Is it common for a players first Bowman card to not have the 1st Bowman designation on the front? As far as I can tell, Justin Williams, a Cardinals farm hand, has his first Bowman cards in 2013 Bowman Draft and Bowman Chrome Draft but neither card has the 1st Bowman designation on it. Makes me assume that there are others.

First Bowman card

It was just in 2013 I believe. If you check online I don't think any of the 1st Bowmans had them that year- see Aaron Judge's for another example.
Looks like with Bader down, Willams has a shot to play RF.. I have bought a ton of BGS 9.5 AU RCs in the last month or so. Bader, Hicks, Gorman, Carlson, Libratore, O’Neil, Flaherty, Arenado and Reyes. All Bowman Chrome first cards. I haven’t got to Willams yet.
Not extremely common but also not rare.
Biggest prospect lately it happened to was Cristian Pache who had cards in 2017 Draft w/o the 1st Bowman logo but his 2018 Bowman Mega Box cards do. |
