Retro Break: 1992 Leaf Series 1
I'm sure many have seen these, but I still like having them crisp and pack fresh. Here's the gets!

"Base Refresher" (boxes are light on parallels and inserts, so here's hofers and a Big Mac)

Gold Leaf Rookies (The only insert in this set. Researching, I shouldve pulled 5, not 4 and I unluckily ran into Matt Stairs twiceSmile

Love these cards! Thanks for looking!

Ahhhhh, 1992 Leaf. I specifically remember that Bagwell black gold card. When I pulled it in 92, thought I was sitting on a gold mine.
Barry Larkin - 1781 different
Joey Votto jersey numbered cards - 283

You gotta love crisp and pack fresh. Although, last night I opened a box of 1998 Finest. 1 of the 2 Mystery Finest I pulled was all melded and stuck together. It was Rolen/A. Galarraga so I wasn't too upset. The other one was Griffey/Clemens which made up for the bad one. Just a handful of refractors and no-protector cards and I was happy just to be opening up packs.
Currently collecting Mike Trout, Bo Jackson and Al Kaline.

Sets for sale or trade:

1998 Leaf Rookies & Stars-- 99.7% complete.
1999 Finest-- Complete.
2000 Bowman Chrome-- Complete.
2001 Studio---97% complete.

This is a problem with most packs from the mid to late 1990's. The glossy coating literally destroys the cards and you can't get them unstuck! Better off buying pre 1992 before the glossy coated craze!
All-time favorite insert card designs:

  1. 1991 Donruss Elite
  2. 1995 Studio Platinum
  3. 1994 Flair Hot Glove
  4. 1993 Ultra Award Winners
  5. 2001 Bowman Heritage Chrome
  6. 1994 Fleer All-Stars

Agreed. The most consistent glossy product for me to still open is 1993 fleer ultra. Have a box of 1992 score select traded that I've had mostly unopened for ten years now in which first four packs were bricks.

I bought a bunch of retro packs from a local card shop and pulled some pretty good hits last night. Will post later when I have time.

Bought packs of 1994 Flair Series #2, 1996 Score Jumbo Packs, 1997 Donruss Update, and 1996 Upper Deck. Got a sweet Ripken insert out of 1997 Donruss Update and a 1996 Score Artists Proof Mark Grace!
