Today I pulled out my 2010 Topps Chrome, Wrapper Redemption Refractor sets. These refractors are a 15 card variation/extension of the regular issue Chrome set. The cards increased the base chrome set from 220 to 226, adding a Buster Posey RC, and 5 Legends in addition to 9 variation rookies. Buster Posey did not have a card in the original Topps Chrome release.

The redemption refractors differ from the regular base refractors. They have white borders instead of silver. The photos also differ on the 9 rookie cards in this set.

Sending in Hobby wrappers was the only way to get the cards. You would receive a 3 card redemption pack for every 24 hobby wrappers. One out of every ten redemption packs would include a special green refractor #/599. Enjoy

Love the Ruth, Gehrig and Mantle. Like both versions but the greens are really sharp.

Pretty cool set.... Kind of funny to me to see this post, I was just thinking to my self the other day while sending out trade offers - Why would Topps NOT include Posey and Bumgarner in the 2010 Topps Chrome set when they are both in regular Topps series One? Weird.... Maybe not as weird, but 2011 Topps Chrome could have been a great set also... IF Trout, Salvador, Rizzo, Altuve, Goldschmidt, etc, etc, etc were included. Cool to see these, my first time laying eyes on them.

A Trout 2011 Chrome would have been awesome ... if only they had the retail "Chrome update" concept back then ...

^ For sure!!! Closest thing before 2013 to the Chrome Updates (I believe?) was the '07 & '08+ Topps Update HTA Box-Topper Chrome refractors. I'd love to have the Kershaw from 2008.
