It's better than a bidder that doesn't pay! I can't stand that. I'd rather someone retract rather than a non-payer. Then you have to either re-list or do a second chance offer for the next lowest bid which may not even be accepted.

Non-payers are awful but a retraction can look like you used a shill account to find out where the high bidder was so you can bid them up later.
