Hi folks,
I received today the 1964 Topps Ernie Banks shown below among the other scans.
Also, I'd like to hear why you collect what you collect!
Here's my story, love to hear yours!
Both of my parents are from Chicago and when I was growing up in here in Florida, we got cable, so of course every afternoon after school, I'd come home and turn to WGN and watch the Cubs games. Around '84 or '85 my dad told me about the tragedy that was the 1969 Cubs. We went to a card show and decided to try and find all of the 1969 team. My dad convinced me to get as many Cubs as I could find from the 1970 Topps set so that we could see the 1969 stats. Anyway, that was my 1st Ernie Banks card, 1970 Topps #630.
I've been in and out of the hobby over the years, but have always kept an eye on Ernie Banks cards. I've made it a goal to get every single Topps regular issue card for Banks from his playing days, 1953 - 1971. I only need about 13 more cards.
I've also picked up a few nicer newer releases, a couple of autos and memorabilia cards, etc. Enjoy!
