Generally speaking, if you sell everything and get half your money back on average, you did pretty well.

I bought four wax boxes of 89 Upper Deck and only found three Randy Johnsons and two Griffeys. I wont be buying a wax box of anything again. Just my opinion.
I collect Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey Jr., and Philadelphia Eagles autographed graded cards!

I've never done it but have friends that own shops. It all depends on the product. If you're able to get a good deal on a mid end product and get 2 big hits, you can definitely offset or even make money. But it's not always a guarantee. One of these days I wanna try a case of something!
