I love the idea but for me the look is like a antique shop. You are not giving each one enough credit. I understand that room/space is an issue but to me it just looks cluttered.

My idea would be to get some floating shelves that attach to the wall and stagger them like so

__________
___________
____________

(Not sure if that came out right, did it on my phone)
Anyway it will let each one have more visibility and will look fancier.

Just my two cents. I did this with my bobble head collection and it looked really cool
+1 on this... looks cluttered (awesome collection though!)
Looking for 2011-2016 Gypsy Queen Mini's. Please check my want list. Also, must send FIRST!

Okay, here's my 2 cents. And 2 suggestions
1) buy shelving that can go all around the room about 1 1/2 feet from the ceiling ... Like a room border. And you can have your collection surround you and they'll be up and out of the way ... And probably make a lot more room for your collection to grow!
2) Ikea sells glass display cases w/light. You can probably fit one on each side of your desk and display your collection relatively dust free and less cluttered.

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.
