Wouldn't Ed be Edward, or was his legal name changed to Ed?

Just looked it up ... Ed Ott's legal name was Nathan Edward Ott.

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

Good guesses. The Japanese player did not play in the Major Leagues. The answers are Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Ed Ott. Although Ed Hug is also 5 letters. I didn't even think of him since his entire MLB experience consisted of one base on balls in his one plate appearance.

Well then it's a tie, as William VanLandingham has the same number of letters as Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.
