Topps Power Players Contest ?????

Does anyone understand how the contest is played. I read the rules and I didn't understand how long your player would be active for. If you activate your players. Are they active for a day, week, month, or season. I know that names of players will be drawn every week. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Or is this another Topps contest that will become a waste of time like last's years was...
