People do need / want base cards. However you need to look at it in these senarios for non-high end products (1) trade wise because of low BV as mentioned, it's not worth the price of shipping one card. If I see that someone needs a base that I have, and I know who they are....I'll just send a PWE (plain white envelope) package to help them out. (2) as above, folks rippen, for the most part already have base or can get it easily from thier LCS so no need to trade/buy online anyway (3) look at the Set Builders Thread I think in the Trade forum, just be aware that most will want to trade base for base (4) we can all probably use older base (not vintage as that's a different ballgame) depending on when we started collecting and what / who we collect.

Have fun, but if you are thinking about the possibility of making money or trading a bunch of base for higher end cards, get that out of your head pronto....it's a losing game.
