Today I went up to my local ice rink that I play at to watch some of the Panthers and such practice...there have been several AHL/NHLers there lately in the mornings going through workouts together.

such players include:

Olli Jokinen _ WPG Jets
Trevor Kidd
Luongo - Left to Canada Olympic
Jaykob Megna - Ducks Draftee
and a few others I don't recognize..... I think Jordan Tootoo..but not positive

and a couple I was glad to see:

Jayson Megna - WBS Pens RC (invited to Pens RC tourney)
- hes a very cool kid, great to talk to and more than willing to stop and shoot the breeze for a bit.

and the reason for the titile;

TOMAS VOKOUN!!!!!
- Talked with him for a few mins...even offered to have my daughter come later in the week to meet him, get autos, pics and even hold his helmet.. Very nice guy!

Very nice. How were the others? Being an Islanders fan, I've met Jokinen & Luongo & they were very nice guys, (of course that was very early in their careers so I've wondered if they've changed much). I've also met Trevor Kidd too & he's been "meh". I hope he was nice to you.

I wont give Jokinen the time of day...he actually walked out with Vokoun from the locker room......Jokinen was very rude to my wife and I at a charity event my wife donated a cruise to. He was also the root of a lot of issues in the Panthers Locker room. In addition he also walked off the tee box and left a Panthers Charity golf tourney.

The same night Jokinen was rude to us, Luongo was actually our Blackjack dealer (Panthers Ice & Dice casino night). He was awesome and very personable. His wife Gina, her father owns a nearby Pizza joint (that's where they met) was also hilarious and a bit tipsy! At the end of the night before the final auctions...Luongo actually gave us his left over auction tix for us to use to win stuff...and we did ... a closet makeover! Ever since then I have liked him....I just wish I could have run into him at the practice.....but he just left for Canada for Olympic training.

if it was anyone else I would say yes! I think he(they) leave fri, sat or sun anyway. I know Megna is leaving sunday...not exactly sure what days the others are...the rookie tourney starts next week here so ice time will be very limited.
