Does Beckett Grade Certified Encased Manufacturer Cards???
Hello All,

Does Beckett Grade Certified Encased/Un-circulated Manufacturer Cards???

Should the cards be removed from their original casing?

Does Beckett slab them while they are still in their original casing?

Would this lower the value of the card if removed to be graded & slabbed?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Personally, I'd probably keep the card as is--encased. I think if you were to submit it for grading, I think Becket would open it for you, but if you're going to go that route, you might as well open it yourself. I am relatively certain that Beckett does not slab cards in their original casing. (Plus, it would be impossible for Beckett to grade the surface and edges).

Thanks for the advice Smile please see my other 3 threads of my "PC pickups this week" & you can see which encased cards I'm questioning about...

Thanks again,

If you're talking about Tribute from last year yes they grade them. I think they look better slabbed by Beckett than they do in the factory case.

I definitely wouldn't grade them. If they came from Topps encased, leave them that way. I would say most collectors would think it was odd to take an encapsulated card out of the case and then pay to have it encased again with a couple condition grades on them.
