Self Grading Chrome Cards ???

Self Grading Chrome Cards ???
Not talking about corners, (that"s a giving), but the surface of Chrome cards. I have seen either factory print lines or some with tiny nicks on the cards. I have yet seen the perfect Chrome card.

My main question is, when self grading and going by Beckett Grading Scale, if a card is mint with a nick . . . is it a 9 or an NrMt=8 in your opinion?

RE: Self Grading Chrome Cards ???
If the card has a nick in it, I wouldn't even give it an 8. If everything else is great on the card, and depending on the level of "nick" that is there, I'd probably go 7 at best.

I agree what your saying and that's how it should be, but I have hundreds of chromes or foil cards and they all have tiny nick or nicks on the surface.

According to Beckett's Grading Scale . . .

Mint 9: . . . Clean gloss with one or two tiny scratches barely noticeable to the naked eye.

NmMt 8: . . . Solid gloss with very minor scratches detectable only upon close inspection. Or a subtle metallic print line.

Best way to really see and check out your chrome or foil card is to scan it at 300dpi, nicks will truly shows.

Thanks for your input.
