This past week a driver was quoted using the N word while escorting a reporter and NASCAR employee to another drivers hauler. The driver Jeremy Clements was suspended and must go througha NASCAR approved process to be reinstated. Jeremy should have never used the word no should anyone else. Some will say if he used it then he uses it often. Which is very well possible. Also there is a chance he just screwed up once and it happened to be very public. NASCAR jumped on it and suspended him citing all their rules. This one driver using this word will be seen to many across the land as look they are a bunch of racists. I for one do not want people labeling me a racist because of a sport i follow so NASCAR fans you should be disturbed by the use of the word because it does reflect you. HOWEVER on the other side of this last week 50 cent was at the track and the cameras followed him everywhere. They could not get enough of showing this great artist being at their race. Obviously so that his fan base will start looking at NASCAR as a cool sport. How many times does he use the word in his songs and movies. Just like they flaunt kid rock at the same race and many others even though they are ANTI drug. NASCAR quit faking it. If you stand for someting then you stand for it with everyone you decide to parade on tv. That means not only do you hold your drivers to this standard but you hold the musical guests and VIP's. I am a rap fan have been since the days of whodini and Lady B of power 99 fm in philladlephia. I am not stupid I understand that there is a difference in who uses it but it doesnt make the word any less ugly. The fact that this word gets used so often in rap culture mistakenly leads younger fans to think the word is ok. It is never ok. NASCAR do more than suspend this driver work with him and maybe 50 cent try to educate not just repair the image.

Well said. I agree it was wrong but also as you pointed out there seems to be a double standard.
As far as 50 and Kid Rock go I guess it is because they are artists and are cool. I don't think Dr. Phil would draw as many fans. lol jk

Has anyone heard a report that actually specified what word he used? Cause I cant find anything that says for sure.

he used the n word. He said something to the effect drive like an N get treated like a N.
