Topps & Sega Presents: 2012 Card Gen (Japanese Exclusive)

Topps & Sega Presents: 2012 Card Gen (Japanese Exclusive)
Hello everybody. As some of you may or may not know I live in Japan where something interesting pops up every now and then.
One little odd ball I found recently is a product known as Card Gen made by Topps & Sega.
As far as I know these are used for some sort of arcade game, though I haven't found it yet. I've also yet to find it sold in any form other than as singles at my LCS.

Okay enough talk, time for cards. (Sorry no scans only pix).

Justin Verlander

Also picked up Jose Bautista, Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, Mariano Rivera, Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun and a couple of other peices.
Will I pick up anymore singles? Yes I will. Especially when I go to buy a box of 2012 Topps Chrome, plus I'm still looking for Curtis Granderson and Hunter Pence's cards.
I'm open to trading/checking to see if they have certain players in this product if anyone wants me to.

Edit: For anyone interested in trades here are the cards I have to offer. Cards involved in potential trades ATM and cards of players on my team in the game aren't included. Cards from potential trades that don't work out will be included later.

Is David Wright missing the last gold star or is that just the angle of the picture?

It's missing the last gold star. Judging from how the description of him on the card says "looking to bounce back in 2012" I'd say it's a result of his injury-ridden season last year.

Found it.

Would you like me to pick one up for you?

Oh and I found a link to the game these cards are from.
http://www.sega-cardgen.com/
Hopefully I'll be able to play this at least once before September rolls around.

Well that site is not very easy to navigate without knowing japanese. I searched ebay for japan card gen and found a bunch of (fashion??) girl cards. I tried baseball card gen but only find generation now inserts. Are you trying to find out the whole list too or do you already know it? I was able to view the teams on the site and see they have the pirates. Is McCutchen in there? I assume it's only current players, no Nolan Ryan eh?

Dunno at the moment. I'll let you know when I find out.
I'll get one for you though (need a catcher in order to play the game anyway lol).

The site's hard to navigate even if you know Japanese. It looks like it's all active players (so no Nolan Ryan) and it only showcases 3 players per position. Although I know for a fact that there are more than that.
I also found a bunch on them on Japan's version of eBay known as Yahoo Auction.
*For those of you who don't know how yen works, just think of 1,000 yen as $10.

http://auctions.search.yahoo.co.jp/searc...x=commerce
(am I allowed to post this link even though it's technically not an active auction?)

And yes Andrew McCutchen is in the mix. (you can find his auction on the 6th page in my link above)

As for a complete checklist I haven't found one yet. But I've come to know that there are 408 cards in all and there are also rare silver(ish) parallels to be found with a different picture of the player.

I can safely say that I've saved a bundle by going to a shop that hasn't realised how sought after these cards are and selling them for 10% of the prices on the auction site (for now at least).
