my cards of one of my favorite childhood players...'70's vintage
As a kid growing up in Chicago in the '70's, we didnt have video games or cable tv. We had WGN ch.9 and the Cubs, all the kids in my neighborhood were Cubs fans and we would play baseball or fastpitch until the game started, then we all went inside to watch. The Cubs where not very good but I still enjoyed watching every game. Of all the players I watched, Bruce Sutter was always my favorite! Now if I remember the "forkball" wasnt used that much until Sutter kinda made it popular. I'd get all pumped up when he'd come in to save the game, one of the few bright spots on those Cubs teams. After the game I would grab my mitt and a rubber ball and go imitate Bruce by throwing fork balls against the side of a building next to my house.

So here are my Bruce Sutter cards I've collected so far. Thanks for looking and as always comments are always welcome!!

Matt
