I read today in bleacher report that they were saying Shea Weber can replace Chris pronger and is a spitting image of his style of play. REALLY!!! just because of the size and heavy shot no way. If Shea signs with philly he will still have some pretty big shoes to fill. Pronger is a player who can control the speed of the game, intimidate opposing players, lead your power play, clear the front of the net, and yes add excitement to the game. NO WAY SHEA!!!! BORING......... BLADES OF STEEL

I'd take Weber now over Pronger at his peak any day. I think they're comparable players, but Weber is smarter and takes less stupid penalties.

Really???? Pronger won Hart (MVP) and Norris... 2 cups... and scared the crap out of anyone who ventured into their end of the ice.

Stupid penalties??? LOL Crush them once and they won't dare challenge. Pronger was/is one of the most prolific playoffs d-man of all-time!!!

I agree with those saying Pronger in his prime is better than Weber in his... but, let's not kid ourselves, Pronger is FAR from his prime and who knows if he'll even play again. I think Weber for 14yrs at $110M is better than Suter for 13yrs at $98M... good move by the Flyers.. I wish the Wings pulled the trigger like that. Weber is a franchise-changer... and if you don't believe that, ask Poile if, forgetting the money, he'd rather have Weber or 4 1st Rounders... I bet $110M he says Weber...

1 - Thanks tips, but I know what the Hart is, or were you just reassuring yourself.
2 - Yes. Stupid penalties, granted that got worse as he got older.
3 - Weber has never had to demand a trade to save his marriage.
4 - I'll post whenever I like. I'm not about to take orders from you.
5 - I'd take Weber any day. If you don't like it, it really doesn't matter.
6 - When you can articulate like an adult (18+), feel free to post again.
