I seriously doubt that. It's still a spectacle. More people might not watch it on TV, but live is totally different.
I was enthralled with the two car tandem racing @ Daytona and Talladega. I couldn't take my eyes off the race. It was constantly exciting with or w/out wrecks. The cars were continuosly changing positions in the order and line on the track.
With pack-racing, the wrecks are more exciting but there are long portions of the race that have very little action happening. Nothing changes on the track and everyone seems content to just drive in circles.
