So, tonight is the third annual Project Cupid Charity Date Auction, an event that me and my wife put together to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Dana farber.

We're hoping to raise 25k tonight. we have 20 bachelors and bachelorettes up for auction, 1 marriage proposal happening, and a ton of live auctions and raffles

i know a few folks here on the boards have donated, and i wanted to thank yall. Beckett members donated 380 dollars to Project Cupid this year. Seriously: to those of you who contacted me and wanted to give, i really do appreciate it

im freakin' exhausted.

The first year, we made 2400 dollars. last year, we made 8800. this year, it looks like we have raised a little over 18 grand

hard to argue doubling you revenues for charity, but it is short of what i was hoping for (25k). to try to make up for the shortfall, ill be extending my own donations to the charity by taking 10% of all my ebay sales and 20% of all my off-ebay sales. i was going to do through that last night, but im going to extend it through march

and we made some great contacts - possibly will have Bruins goalie Tuuka Rask as a bachelor next year, and a patriots player (we were supposed to have the punter zoltan mesko this year, but things were just a little tight after the Pats made the Super Bowl). and it looks like we will have a lot better patriots swag - the guy the proposed to his girlfriend - who was SMOKING hot (and said yes) - rents his apartment to wes welker, is friends with tom brady's assistant, etc etc etc. oh, and sidenote: welker actually moved out of his apartment in boston this season to be closer to foxboro so he could win a championship. man was dedicated...that "drop" has got to be keeping him up at night

the only down note was me and my wife ended up in the emergency room at 2am...she broke a bone in her foot and tore a ligament, but it didnt trigger until hours after the event. she's up on crutches and a brace and pain killer for about a week

Congrats on the success of your charity event. You know if everyone on this board who hasn't donated just donated something, even a dollar...the gauntlet has been thrown down!
