There was an artist that did something similar on the baseball sketch cards when they came out. The artist did half of a players face on each card, so if you were lucky enough to track down both halves you got the whole face. I thought it was cool and I saw a few of them but rarely did I see both sides for sale at once. I even thought about chasing after some, but decided not to as the frustration would be too high if I never found the other half.
