I don't understand why Topps made a "1st Edition" when they already had Opening Day...isn't 1st Edition just UD's version of Opening Day?

The 2007 1st Edition was a subset. They are actually harder to get than the Topps Gold in my opnion as I bought alot of packs in 2007 for Topps and I bet you I had twice as many Gold than I had 1st edition. I was lucky as I pulled a Derek Jeter error w/Mantle and Bush 1st Edition. I had it graded and it got a BGS 9.5. There are only 2 with that grade so there tough to get.
