It's time to stop when it's no longer fun. If it's fun for you to collect rare cards of a guy still trying to make it, then by all means proceed. If it's no fun for you to collect a guy that's not playing, then maybe it's time to shelve it. Frankly, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to collect someone who's not playing.

+1... I agree, collect who YOU enjoy collecting... Screw what others say or think... Playing, not playing, hot, not hot, retired, dead, just enjoy this hobby, the minute it isn't fun anymore for you, it's time to drop it and move on... take it from me, I deal with a LOT of VY haters... I don't let it phase me at all...
