What Would You do?

What Would You do?
I want to send this card in to get graded by BGS. I am not a big fan of SGC and would rather have this in a Beckett case to match my other graded cards. The problem I have is deciding whether or not to send it in like it is.

If I send it in the way it is and tell Beckett to regrade it, my guess is the highest grade they would give it is an 8.5. I mean they are supposed to be the more strict of the grading companies so if SGC says 8.5 how can they go any higher.

My other option is to take it out myself and send it in and cross my fingers that it comes back at least an 8.5, but maybe a 9.

Looking for opinions and maybe some people with similar experience and what they did in this situation.

From what I see, it looks good. Send it to Beckett but I would try to take it out unless you know how.

SGC is stricter on grading vintage, than PSA or Beckett's, that is why most of the Vintage graders use them.

it looks to be like 70/30 off center, which of course is going to hurt the grade, most of the Theismann Topps, are only grading in the 7.0 to 8.0 grade range anyways, so your better off keeping it slabbed the way it is.

I wouldn't say 70/30....Maybe 60/40 at worst. And the reason I am considering this is because a 9 is worth about $125 more than an 8.5. And I can almost guarantee Beckett would not grade this a 9 if it has been slabbed SGC 8.5. Especially if you're saying SGC grades tougher on vintage.

Anyone else think SGC is tougher on vintage? Are they even in business anymore?

I would keep it as it is. However if you do send it in I would remove it from the holder and send it to PSA. I like PSA and SGC for my vintage and BGS for my modern stuff. BTW great looking card.
