I like to build sets each year, so I'll usually get a couple boxes of the products I'm looking for. Then I use trading/online purchasing to fill out the missing cards. When building sets, there is diminishing returns with each box purchased (especially with Chrome in my experience). The extra trade bait I get is useful to pick up missing cards and rookies. Occasionally I'll pick up some boxes from the late 90s/early 00s. It really reminds me of collecting when I was younger.

Singles may be better.....but nearly not half as fun or exciting. I try to do both. But mainly i bust since i dont really have a set preference on what i collect besides giants. its fun to try and beat the odds.
