I have never really collected true rc's of players up until the last couple years and never really ever bidded on them. For example, I have been watching 2 Tomy Romo's for a while now, a SPX Romo rc /1500 Gem Mint BGS 9.5 and a Bowman Chrome Refractor /500 Gem mint BGS 9.5. Needless to say, I lost them both either cause I am a cheap bas**** or I am underestimating these things. For sake of argument, and I dont think it is against the rules to say BV on a subject like this, if so please lmk Floyd or CEO. One was $50bv and the other $80bv. Both went for at least $20 or $30 more than BV at auction. Was this a good price at auction or too much? I thought it was too much. I am one personally that will not pay over 50% BV on auction, I dont care what it is. There have been a couple exceptions, but mainly I pay 20-40% of BV if i am lucky. Mainly i am interested in the graded rookies now, but I dont have a clue there and I would like to start stacking up on some of these of my PC guys. Any help would be appreciated! I don't know much on the subject but I recently bought a Brady RC 9.5 BGS and when I put it in my org it took the BV to n/a so I believe a RC with that good of a grade does increase the value fairly significantly. The prices you mentioned does sound ok for those cards. Although I whole heartedly agree on the only paying 50% BV but I am cheap too, LOL

Those 9.5's are no joke.. I personally could care less about the grades (don't get me wrong though I love receiving gold labels).. Personally I'm happy with a 8+ depending on the year and usually flip the golds.. The majority of the times that I have flipped them I've received between 3-5x what the non graded card would go for.

Seriously, high grade RCs are top dollar. Check the opg for graded RCs of some players. It's amazing the jump in price from a 9 to a 9.5. They be others. Don't beat yourself up.
