I would say an 8 would actually hurt the value. Modern cards really are not worth grading unless they are a 9 or better. Really 9.5 as there are soooo many nice cards out there.

for a modern card without a low serial number (like /1 /5) i'd say anything under a 9 (and a lot of times even a 9) would carry about the same value or lower than a raw copy that looks nice

I personally would go for the nicer looking raw copy over a PSA or BGS 8/8.5 unless its an extremely pricey card... with that being said though? I think its a solid looking card and if you like it for $17 can't go wrong
