I don't post much on this site but thought I would share with the Beckett community two recent pickups. In the baseball forum I posted picking up the 2008 Yankee Murders Row Quad auto and in a related deal picked up what is the centerpiece of my football collection:

How much did that Thorpe set you back? I remember seeing one go for 8k a few years ago. I pulled a Thorpe/Sanders/Brown/Payton quad jersey/jacket card /25 from Donruss Classics about 5 years ago. A few years later Beckett released a football issue detailing the top 25 Donruss/Playoff memorabilia cards of all time. The quad was the number #2 ranked mem card they had ever made. At the time that I pulled it I posted it here. A member contacted me wanting it, he told me he was one of the three big thorpe collectors that had just had a major interview done on them. I told him the card was already on ebay so he ended up buying it there but before he did I actually got contacted by one of the other "big two"..This all happened in the span of about 2 hours. I started following Thorpe sales after that and was amazed to see some of the prices, his cuts sell for more than Ruth most of the time because he has so few.
