Note to self. Do NOT use Mahogany for a frame again. I didn't realize it was an open grain wood like Oak, which requires using a grain filler in order to achieve a smooth finish. Had to do some research and make a home brew and colored mixture that would fill the grain lines but contrast the stain color and be easily sandable. This is for a custom 7 card frame I'm working on for a gentleman who found me on ebay. It's going to house 7 BCW 4 Screw holders in the vertical orientation for a letterman set, for, of all things, it to say "COWBOYS." Being the fan I am, he's kind of getting preferential treatment.

I will say this. Mahogany takes colored stain BEAUTIFULLY. He wanted it done in Cabernet which is a medium red. I just put the second coat on and WOW. These couple of pics are just the first coat, I'll post up the deeper color once it dries.



This one is very unique for me as the entire back will be removeable and the glass is actually screwed into the front for added rigidity. I'll try to get some more pics up of it in the next coming days.

Next up on the dockett are a frame for 35 cards which is a combination of 8 BGS cards in the top row with 3 rows of 9 One Touch housed cards under it, and a 30 card case with 3 rows of 10 PSA cards. Fortunately the PSA cases use the same dimensions as the BGS so that makes it easier, but doggone those psa slabs are THIN.
