What's your thoughts on authenticating non-sports cards?

What's your thoughts on authenticating non-sports cards?
I know grading them can boost its values just like sports cards, but what about getting them authenticated?  I know the current card companies that produce these authenticate them, I figured having it reauthenticated by BGS will boost its value and also provide a positive outlook on them vs. sportscards.  Let me know your thoughts.
