In the grand scheme of things it doesn't seem like THAT much money...until you compare it to something real to you.
Last summer I went shopping for a new car as my 7-year old Malibu was approaching 150k miles and the transmission didn't like 3rd gear.
I found a used Camaro, dark red with black racing stripes, less than 15,000 miles and my buddy worked for the dealership and got the price dropped from $24,500 to $22,800.
STILL couldn't afford it. Ended up with a brand new car (nice consolation prize), a 2011 Malibu for $18,800.
I COULD'VE NEARLY BOUGHT TWO OF THE MALIBUS INSTEAD OF THIS ONE CARD. Un-freakin-believable. Even if money were no object I could never bring myself to pay that kind of money for one card.

I collect Michael Jordan, Mitch Richmond, and Ohio State players (football and basketball) in OSU gear. I strongly prefer 90's-era cards and use newer cards primarily for trade bait!
