Here's an idea that I've had for about 15 years though... anyone remember Fleer's E-X brand? They were super-thick (for the time, at least) cards that were made up of multiple layers (clear acetate and a picture within a frame).
What if a company had players sign an acetate layer that was placed inside the frame over a photo layer? I think it would be more aesthetically pleasing than a sticker and it could help eliminate redemptions.
No redemptions with stickers is a lot better then a Gretzky redemption on card. Knowing you may not get the card. I like that idea as well, seems the design would be awesome
