USA auto redemption
Auto relic /1166: Ozzie Martinez

Comments: No final box magic. That means the contest winner is andrewinnc – congratulations, well done! Now the summary, the sorting, and the remorse. Not really; it was fun, and there were parts of this break I really enjoyed.

Just ordered an inner case of 2010 Platinum, should have it Wednesday.
Do you remember about how long it took your Bonus Redemptions to come in?

My Weilands are still out. I got all my Chisenhalls. I think those were my only two.

Edit: Well, looking at completed listings, it seems some of his 2010 cards are still selling well. This year, not so much.

Exactly.

Comments: I think Cases #1 and #5 were about the same, and clearly the worst of the break. The Harpers definitely took some sting out of the bad break, but there’s no way to deny that this product is a disappointment. I think I got value equal to about 80% of what I paid; a relic checklist that corresponded to their projections might have made up the difference. I cannot recommend paying more than $75 a box for this product right now, and even then you need to be aware that 80% of your boxes will be losers overall. It’s a fun break, though, with lots of little hits guaranteed, and checklists that are short enough to complete without too much trouble. There are lots of options for sets too, including the numbered prospects at the high end, and the unnumbered xfractor prospects and colored base cards at the low end. The design of the cards is nice, and they have a lot of aesthetic appeal. My congratulations to the contest winners; I will be PMing you shortly once I do enough sorting to get your prizes ready for shipment (by tomorrow, I hope). Thanks for stopping in the thread, and I’ll see most of you again when Bowman Chrome comes out.
