$180 per pack? As fast as I came back into this hobby, I'm about to leave just as fast ....not really, but people are seriously paying these type of prices?

RE: Triple Threads?
yes people are paying these prices hoping they get a big hit that will easily sell for at least 1000 but in 99% of the packs, you get a $5 dollar auto card... people do it for the thrill and gamble of it, hoping to get the big hit

what do you feel is a fair price for a pack of triple threads?
what you have to remember though is you can pull a card worth a thou to me and i have never purchused triple threads but have to book cards from them which i bought for 50 a piece i would say no more then 50-60 a pack
also dez bryant, any bama players in bama uni, john parker wilson, jered weaver, matt kemp, topps triple thread stuff, anthony rizzo (05-28-2012, 09:37 PM)rascrush Wrote: what you have to remember though is you can pull a card worth a thou to me and i have never purchused triple threads but have to book cards from them which i bought for 50 a piece i would say no more then 50-60 a packsure but when the best of the best cards are sold in "exclusive" packs that no one besides the wealthy collectors can afford to "gamble" on it eliminates the majority of the market that may still be interested in the hobby as a whole, or at the very least puts a bad taste in their mouths. i personally do not care one way or another, but have seen countless threads on here about lcs's closing and people leaving the hobby, is the industry to blame? i would say it is.
I have opened some higher end stuff to include Triple Threads, but with that being said if your not looking for the "off the chart" card then save money and buy the individual card for $50.00. It has become more expensive but it's us to blame. We are the ones that are chasing after those limited cards. I loved collecting in the late 80's and early 90's but how many people want to go back to the mass production years?
Just my 2 cents.

The hobby has gotten expensive. Spend only within your means. I've purchased so far 4 boxes of '11 Topps Chrome and have only hit one solid hit and that was my Jeter/Cano black refractor /63. It's $20 short of a bill. It's a gamble even on $60-$70 hobby boxes. We are going to buy 2 boxes of GQ and 2 boxes of '11 Topps Chrome bc my wife loves it and has good luck with breaks lol.
^Need the Purple 1/1! Will Pay A Finder's Fee!^ Collecting: Andrew McCutchen (me) & Derek Jeter (wife) (05-28-2012, 10:56 PM)HeyFitzy Wrote: The hobby has gotten expensive.
