RE: Beckett Hockey Cover Conversation: Who are your favorite modern Original Six stars?
Hey, more proof that sports media only cares about original six teams (and Pittsburgh due to Crosby)! Almost every game televised on NBC is 2 original six teams against each other (or Pittsburgh), most hockey highlights that actually make Sportscenter are original six teams (or Pittsburgh), and articles in Sports Illustrated usually feature them. Yes most of them have the largest fan bases. But as a St. Louis Blues fan I'm disgusted that the team with the most points in the NHL gets almost zero coverage by sports media, whereas Detroit and Chicago, Blues arch-rivals, get plenty of coverage, and Boston, New York (and Pittsburgh) are hammered down my throat. People wonder what the NHL needs to grow in popularity. How about push teams that don't already have huge fan-bases?
Always collecting Ozzie Smith!
