One of the big spenders locally went for a bunch of these, and along with the one I was able to find that he missed, I think we cleaned all the junk up for the rest of you. YIKES! Spent $150 on a box that made $40 back. I think the other guy made about a third of his money back.

Love the product! But the odds were not in my favor...
that's odd, I haven't seen a bad break yet. I mean given the % of the checklist that is in the hall. The only problem I've come up with is that some guys, even the HOFs, are so obscure there's really no demand for them (like the one I hit, yes he's a HOF, but who has heard of him). Which is really a shame, his stats make him sound like a BEAST!

Odd when the product first came out I checked the price and it looks the same now as it did when it came out, the 180 range

IMHO, this type of product is much more fun to open than any of the more recent offerings. I'd rather take a chance on one of the names in this checklist than a 16 year old, up and coming, potentially successful kid in H.S. Again, just my opinion.

I collect 1969 Mets memorabilia and 1960 Topps baseball, nothing else.

That product is really cool. I forget, do you live in Michigan? (For some reason, I seem to recall Texas??) If in Michigan, I'd like to know where to find these.

They were selling around $133-$140 in D&A stores, then went up to around $190.

My card was Fred Mayberry.

Some of his stats:

Win–loss record 148–88
Earned run average 3.63
Strikeouts 822
Saves 101

Teams
Washington Senators (1923–1932, 1936)
Detroit Tigers (1933–1935)
New York Giants (1936)

Career highlights and awards
World Series champion: 1924
American league pennant: 1925, 1934
6-time American League leader in appearances
First player to record 100 career saves (retroactively)

I checked all of the big spender's sales on the Bay...most one sold for was $106 for a Hank Greenberg..most sold for $40-$60, some only $19.99...

Now that being said, I've been buying a few of Historic Autographs new Celebrity product, and having ALOT of fun there!
