I stayed up to see Volquez give up a cheap meatball HR to JD Drew (I called a single) and now being a diehard Red Sox fan & a huge vested interest financially in Volquez's performance.....I have to watch Papelbon be the goat of the game and get RAKED over the coals that he couldnt hold the game for Mariano if the score stands up.

Man, what is disappointing to me is all the players IN the all-star game that shouldn't be there.
Varitek, Crede, Brian Wilson, George Sherill (and I'm an O's fan), Carlos Guillen is debatable...
Just an embarrassing list of All-Stars if you ask me.

Agreed, in no way is that run Papelbon's fault. And I'm sure 75% of the stadium doesn't know that.

Not hard to argue against him when he has a 4.58 ERA which is ATROCIOUS for closers. And it isn't hard to lead the league in saves when your team only wins by 3 or less runs WHEN they win.
Walking 20 guys in less than 40 innings doesn't help either.
