This set features great sports and entertainment personalities who have appeared at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles during the past 25 years. The set was sponsored by the Los Angeles Times and "Rebuild LA" and celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Forum with 25,000 sets produced. The set includes one randomly inserted bonus card in each pack of an outstanding Laker basketball player. The bonus cards were numbered on the back with the prefix "BC". The bonus cards were randomly inserted; one could buy five regular sets and still not guarantee a complete insert set. Noted sports artist Terry Smith designed the set. Proceeds from the 12-card sets, originally priced at 25.00 each, were intended to benefit Los Angeles-area Boys and Girls Clubs. The sets were sold at the Forum's box office and concession stands during all Forum events. Sets could also be ordered through Ticketmaster outlets. The cards measure approximately 2 1/2" by 5". The black card fronts have an inner blue border on the left, right, and upper edges. Across the top is a 25th Anniversary design printed on the border with black points along the upper border edge. The name of the highlighted athlete is printed in white with the first name along the left edge and the last name appearing on the bottom edge. The horizontal backs carry a close-up posed shot on the left with a colored panel on the right giving career highlights and significant information pertaining to their appearances at the Great Western Forum.
