The cards were printed in Canada, and the O-Pee-Chee copyright, and not the Topps, appeared on the back for the first time. Many player poses were different from the Topps set of this year. Cards were grouped by teams. However, there are a number of cards that had updated team names reflecting off-season trades. Card no. 231 is a special memorial to Terry Sawchuk, who passed away in 1970. Card nos. 111, Brit Selby, and 175 Mickey Redmond, could be found with or without a line of text acknowledging trades.
